Best Dog Grooming Vacuum: Pick by Your Dog’s Coat and Nerves

How this guide was made: I haven’t used these kits, and I don’t have a dog. This guide to the best dog grooming vacuum is built on the owner reviews I read for the three single-kit reviews linked below: about 240 across three Amazon listings, high-star and low-star, summarised the same way as every review on this site. That’s a sample, not a census, and most ratings have no written review. Star percentages are Amazon’s published figures. Nothing here is sponsored. The Amazon links on this page are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you.

All three grooming vacuums I’ve read about have big five-star followings, at 77% to 81% five stars, and on all three the low-star reviews centre on the clipper or units that stopped early. What separates the happy owners from the disappointed ones is mostly the dog: its coat, its size and how it feels about noise.

So this isn’t a ranking. The best dog grooming vacuum for a shedding husky is a different kit from the best one for a nervous senior dog or a Shih Tzu’s first home haircut. Find your dog below.

The heavy shedder: Buenkee

If your dog’s coat ends up on every surface you own, start with Buenkee. Its 2-litre bin is the largest of the three, and its five-star reviews include a Great Pyrenees whose owner says the brush pulls out the loose coat and leaves less hair around the house, plus a husky, a German Shepherd’s undercoat and a malamute that refuses to go to a groomer. One Golden Retriever owner never needed more than the lowest suction setting.

Buenkee’s kit, from the listing: clipper and combs, a grooming brush and cleaning tools. There’s no nail grinder.

Worth knowing: even 2 litres fills two or three times on a big double coat, and some units stopped working or their clippers cut weakly, so test it early. Keeping the blade clean helps, and one owner filmed how it comes off and goes back on. The Buenkee review has more.

The nervous dog, or the doodle: oneisall

For a dog that panics at the groomer, oneisall’s LM2 is the best dog grooming vacuum to try first. Quiet is the word its owners use most. A senior dog too anxious for the groomer didn’t seem to notice she was being groomed, a 16-year-old anxious dog was trimmed at home, and one owner says dogs that used to bite at clippers now fall asleep.

Doodle owners like it too: a curly goldendoodle owner saving $140 per groom, a Bernedoodle with a lamb-like coat cut quickly with almost no mess, and labradoodles with some matting. Its deshedding brush gets singled out, and the cordless clipper takes paw and nail heads.

oneisall’s six guide combs, from 3 mm to 23 mm, from the listing.

Worth knowing: the cordless clipper’s battery and plastic heads draw the most complaints, and a few hoses split after months. Comb out mats before you clip; owners say it snags on them. The oneisall review has more.

The small dog’s first home haircut: Afloia

Afloia’s LM1 is the kit small-dog owners seem happiest with: Shih Tzus, Cavachons, Corgis, a chorkie and a Coton. Several are grooming at home for the first time. An 11-year-old Shih Tzu that had only ever been to a groomer was done in under an hour, and another owner went from nearly two hours with clippers and scissors to about 15 minutes. It has the longest warranty of the three, two years by the listing.

Afloia’s kit in use, from the listing: the brush for daily grooming, the clipper for trims, and cleaning tools.

Worth knowing: the 1.5-litre cup fills fast even on small dogs, and as with oneisall, the cordless clipper is the part to test in week one. The Afloia review has more.

When none of them is the best dog grooming vacuum

Very short, sleek coats. One owner of a lab-pit mix barely got any hair off. For a coat like that, a grooming vacuum may not be worth the money.

A large dog with a heavy coat you clip every few weeks. A 53-pound Sheepadoodle owner found the battery and suction weren’t enough, and big coats fill every bin several times. A groomer may still be the easier answer for full clips.

Three habits that make any of them work

Introduce it slowly. Owners of nervous dogs started on the lowest suction, let the dog sniff the parts and the running machine first, and used treats.

Test the clipper in week one. Across all three listings, the clipper draws more low-star reviews than the vacuum or brushes. Charge it, do a real trim inside the return window, and keep your order details for the warranty.

Brush first, and start with a long comb. Clippers snag on mats, and without a guard the blade cuts very close.

Best dog grooming vacuum: the short version

For a heavy shedder, the Buenkee kit. For a nervous dog or a doodle, the oneisall LM2. For a small dog and a first home haircut, the Afloia LM1.

Common questions

Which is the best dog grooming vacuum overall?
It depends on the dog. All three have 77% to 81% five-star ratings. Buenkee suits heavy shedders, oneisall nervous dogs and doodles, and Afloia small dogs.

Which is quietest?
All three list 58 to 60 dB. Quietness comes up most in oneisall’s reviews.

Which one trims nails?
oneisall and Afloia, with a nail grinder head on their cordless clippers. Buenkee’s kit doesn’t include one.

Are they worth it?
Owners on all three listings compare it with groomer bills of $125 to $160 a visit, and several say it paid for itself on the first groom. The catch is the clipper, so test yours early.

Do they work on cats?
Some owners use them on cats, and some cats are scared. Start with the brush on the lowest setting.

Star percentages are Amazon’s published figures at the time of writing and will drift as new ratings arrive. Patterns above are summarised in my own words from samples of the written reviews available on each listing, which are smaller than each listing’s full review count and much smaller than its total ratings.
